Celebrating Dr. Dick's Retirement

SEND RETIREMENT GREETINGS to DR. KEN W. DICK

Chiropractor Ottawa ON Ken Dick

For over 40 years Ken has thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of serving patients at the Britannia Chiropractic Clinic and he will retire on December 17, 2025.

When Ken began his practice, he had a calligrapher paint the following words in large letters in the reception room of the clinic.

“We are here to honour the inborn potential of everyone to be truly healthy.  We seek to remove interference so the body can heal itself.  We are grateful for the opportunity to witness nature’s miracles and the privilege to serve others”.

Those words still resonate with him today as he is truly grateful for the opportunity to have met over 11,000 patients.

Ken sold almost 5,000 copies of his book, Healing Satori, and is bursting with pride now that he has 2 children continuing his chiropractic legacy. He jokes that he will need at least 2 chiropractors to keep him going in his later years.

He is also relieved to know that he leaves his patients in good hands, in that they are welcome to continue their care with Dr. Patrick Kirkham at the same clinic or with his son, Dr. Matthew Dick who has practiced for 3 years at the Kanata Family Chiropractic Clinic:

Congratulations! It has been an enjoyable ride working with you for the past 17 years. All the best in the next chapter.

Thank you Dr. Kirkham…one of the main reasons I continued as long as I did is because of the working environment you inspired and one of the main reasons I am retiring is because I know my patients will be left in good hands. Regards, Ken

Ken, having been with you since the early days of your clinic, I’m both sad and happy… Sad that I won’t be able to receive adjustments from you any more and happy for your new adventures.

    All the best!

    Dear Dr. Ken,

I wish you a wonderful retirement after your many years of health service to thousands of grateful patients including myself. Many years, ago, when I first arrived on a recommendation of a friend after years of thinking that it must be arthritis that was getting worse, I was more than relieved to discover that I was simply really out of alignment. Your chiropractic care and exercise recommendations were a saving grace!!
Thanks so much and happy retirement!
    Charlene

Well, Ken, we both knew this day had to come eventually.

Talk about a master in his profession; of the several chiropractors I’ve had experience with over the years, none match up to Dr. Dick. From a young man in his early 20s with terrible knee pain, a bent back, locked up spine and nausea to someone who could function normally day to day years later, Ken proved himself both compassionate and capable throughout our time together. In everything he’s accomplished professionally, it’s an A++ from this patient, through and through.

If your daughter still sings at home, if you keep golfing to your heart’s content and if your colleagues still support you, retirement isn’t a burden. Rather, it’s a chance to go on some new adventures, see some new sights and reflect on a life lived beyond the confines of mediocrity, monotony and diffidence. Had you not followed through, reaching the point you had of running a clinic and treating patients, where would we be now? What life would we have had without you and those with you?

For whatever it may be worth from me, Doc, you deserve that retirement and then some. This world could use more men like you.

    Sincerely,

    Your buddy Alex

    Dr Ken

I will always remember first meeting you – it was back in the day when on weekends (there was an emergency telephone number for care)
So I was in dire straights as I could barely move – my then girlfriend (now my wife) drove me to west end where you greeted us – and you put me back together again
I knew from then on that I was in good hands (literally and figuratively) – you had then and still have a way to make people have faith and trust in you
Thank you so much for all your care – you were an integral part of my health and well being for years – I will always be grateful
    Regards
    Carl

Thanks Carl…I still remember that first day. It is so much easier to work on patients such as you that do all you can to prepare your body for good health. Keep fit Carl. Ken

Congratulations Ken! You will love retirement – so well deserved – the only chiropractor in Ottawa who could ever move my neck and remove my headaches during a very stressful time. Thank you. K.G.

Hi Ken; I want to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for all your help and good work and for your friendship for over 35 years. Your professional help and advice were certainly major factors in keeping my body and mind in good shape into my eighties. Last month. I have participated in the World Tennis Masters in Croatia as a member of Team Canada over 80. Thank you. I wish you all the best in your retirement and please keep in touch. Best regards, Shaheer

Thank you Shaheer. Our interactions were always an inspiration for me. You have mentored me by being a great example of aging gracefully.. Now that I have more time on my hands I hope to enjoy a tennis hit with you next summer. Keep well.

Without your help and expert treatment I would have spent the latter half of my first pregnancy on bed rest. You’ve treated my whole family over the years with such care, kindness and professionalism. I really can’t thank you enough for keeping us all aligned and mobile. Enjoy your travels! Wishing you the very best, Cassandra

      • Dr. Ken Dick on November 19, 2025 at 3:04 pm

Thank you Cassandra. There are few tougher challenges in life than pregnancy and I am glad that we were able to provide benefit for you. Thank you for your kind words. Keep well.
